Position: User Interface Designer
Location: Shreveport, Louisiana

Description
Bowman Systems seeks an experienced User Interface designer to aid the development of our cutting edge web-based database systems. Bowman Systems develops and markets the world’s most trusted, secure and comprehensive web-based social services software, and as such, we require a dedicated professional for this position.

This individual will be responsible for creating new user interfaces for Bowman’s flagship products, ServicePoint, CommunityPoint, and HousingPoint, as well as working on various custom projects for our Professional Services division.

Some duties include: work with Vice President of Product Development to develop new user interfaces for the next generation of our products; work with Product Managers to analyze new User requests for feasibility and integration; develop detailed mockups for new product enhancements; work with Professional Services division on custom interfaces which fall outside of normal product release updates; review various standards by governmental and other agencies for possible changes and adherence in Bowmans Systems products.

This individual will be responsible for creating innovative and easy-to-use interfaces. He/she requires strong interpersonal and motivational skills in order to meet strict deadlines. It is important for this individual to be able to work effectively both under direct and indirect supervision from a project manager.

The ideal candidate is an experienced website designer with strong User Interface skills. Preferably someone who has worked on web-based intranets and is highly skilled in HTML, CSS, Dynamic HTML, incorporating JavaScript, as well as other web technologies.

Qualifications
  • Understanding of user interface design for the Web.
  • Experience with designing websites from inception to delivery.
  • Demonstrable design skills including live URLs.
  • Proven ability to work and coordinate with multiple groups, including product managers, creative designers, software developers, and senior executives.
  • Graphic Design skills a plus.
Responsibilities
  • Create, develop and modify interactive web pages as needed.
  • Contribute to the user interface design of our software projects.
  • Deliver prototypes, mock-ups, design specifications, process flows, and requirement documentation.
  • Work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary team, including members of the software development, marketing, QA, sales, product management, and documentation teams.
  • Contribute to a culture of innovation and teamwork.
  • Keep abreast of current trends in the web technology space.
Technology
  • Strong knowledge of HTML and CSS is essential.
  • Experience working with database driven web sites (Microsoft SQL Server).
  • Capable of quickly producing demonstrable prototypes.
