1. What is CommunityPoint?

CommunityPoint is a website application designed to increase public access to community resources. It enables agency personnel and managers of information and referral (I & R) data to edit and publish data in a real time environment. If purchased along with ServicePoint, CommunityPoint provides seamless integration with the ResourcePoint data captured in your local community's ServicePoint installation.

2. What do I need to run CommunityPoint?

You need a computer that has Internet access. CommunityPoint is a web-based application, which is accessible using any common web browser, e.g. Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, etc.

3. What are the different components of CommunityPoint?

The web application- serves as the public interface, and resource database- managed through an administrative interface. Customers who create websites around CommunityPoint also have an additional interface to manage website content.

4. How soon can my agency/organization implement CommunityPoint?

The application can be set up in just a few days. The process includes: populating the database with information and referral data- which can be entered manually by users at each agency- or importing data through a batch process from another database. For those communities with a ServicePoint installation, CommunityPoint will utilize ResourcePoint data, therefore requiring no additional data entry.

5. Will anyone else have access to my data?

Public users only have access to resource profile information. No other information is shared with the public.

6. Who owns the data we put into CommunityPoint?

You do.

7. What reporting options are available with CommunityPoint?

CommunityPoint administrators have the ability to view search statistics, as well as website traffic statistics via Google Analytics.

8. Can I convert data from a legacy database into CommunityPoint?

Data can be converted from a legacy database and imported into CommunityPoint.

9. Does Bowman Systems provide training for CommunityPoint

Training is generally conducted via web conference utilizing WebEx.

10. What database supports the CommunityPoint application?

Both CommunityPoint and ServicePoint utilize a PostgreSQL database.
