The Housing Locator is a web-based tool that helps renters find appropriate housing, with user-friendly search criteria, that yields detailed information about matching available units. To provide access to fresh housing listings, the site provides customized tools for each user group:

The Housing Locator allows landlords to list, and renters to search for, affordable, accessible, or special needs housing. The Housing Locator includes a database searchable by address or area, along with detailed property descriptions, photos and floor plans, and interactive maps of surrounding amenities (parks, grocery stores, transportation, etc.)

Your community can use HousingPoint to list a wide variety of housing based on the needs in your area. The City of Portland uses the product to list housing affordable to people at or below 80% Area Median Income, including subsidized and privately owned, unsubsidized units. In addition, the City of Portland lists accessible and special needs housing, such as housing for seniors, people with mental or physical disabilities, and people in recovery.

HousingPoint Technical Design
HousingPoint is a web-based application that provides functionality to meet the specific business needs of the property manager, renter, and service agency communities. The application also contains a complete set of functionality to maintain and support the administrative needs of the HousingPoint system administrators. The application is written in ColdFusion, using a SQL Server 2000 database for data storage and retrieval. The mapping and geo-spatial portions of HousingPoint, including maps, utilize the MapQuest mapping service and is hosted at the Bowman data center.
