Position: ServicePoint™ Dedicated User Support Specialist

Location: Fairfax, VA

Description:

Bowman Systems L.L.C. is seeking a ServicePoint™ Dedicated User Support Specialist. This dedicated position supports the mission to prevent and eliminate homelessness.

The individual seeking this position must be familiar with homelessness and confidentiality issues. The homeless management information system (HMIS) called ServicePoint™, is a web-based data management tool used by social service agencies in the Fairfax, Virginia area. This position is based in Fairfax, Virginia.

The individual will be responsible for training, providing technical assistance, reporting, and monitoring system users. Experience using ServicePoint™, other web-based data systems, and Business Objects is a plus. The candidate for this position must have strong interpersonal and motivational skills. In addition, the individual must possess a patient, ego-less approach to customer support and troubleshooting. The ability to provide technical assistance by telephone, email, and face-to-face contact is essential. All duties are performed in a professional and timely manner, in an office environment where security, responsibility, and accountability are of the highest importance.

Frequent local travel, as well as travel in the Fairfax County area, is required.  Therefore, the individual must have access to a vehicle at all times. Training at the main office located in Shreveport, Louisiana may be required.

Position:

This is a full-time position (40 hours per week), Monday through Friday, during the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The individual may need to be available for extended hours of work on a limited basis.

Compensation is commensurate with education and experience. Full benefits are available that include: health, dental and life insurance; sick leave and vacation leave; and 401(k) benefits.

Candidates must agree to submit to a criminal background screening prior to date of hire.

Education and Typical Work Experience:

At a minimum, a Bachelor’s Degree is required; training or educator experience is a plus. Work experience in homeless services, social service or customer service fields is desired. Homeless Management Information Systems Experience is a plus!

Required Qualifications:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experienced user of Microsoft office products, including Excel and Access
  • Ability to learn quickly how to use an online data management system
  • Strong organization and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in use of ServicePoint™, HMIS, or similar online information management or report tool (Business Objects/SQL)

Job Duties:

  • Coordinate and administer support services for the ServicePoint™ application
  • Maintain a working knowledge of the ServicePoint™ application
  • Train end-users on the ServicePoint™ online application and on the policies and procedures for HMIS data entry and maintenance
  • Train for and verify end-user and agency-level understanding of ServicePoint™ data security, client confidentiality, and data integrity requirements
  • Assist end-users and agency administrators with technical support through email, telephone, and face-to-face contact
  • Develop and maintain a trust relationship with all participating agencies
  • Assist users and agencies in meeting reporting requirements through ServicePoint™
  • Produce monthly reports to verify participation and data quality achievement
  • Participate in local, regional, and state meetings or conferences relating to HMIS,  homelessness and social services data management as required
  • Produce and create system-generated reports as needed for agencies or funders
