Today Bowman Systems has 40,000 users across 46 states and Canada, making ServicePoint the world's leading client management software solution for the Health and Human Services industry.

The company's inauspicious beginning took place in March 1999 when Robert Bowman established Bowman Internet Systems, LLC, subsequently named Bowman Systems.  Later that same year the National Human Services Data Consortium was formed.  The national climate was poised for the launch of an information company which specialized in intra-agency, cross-system collaborations and focused on supporting and serving those organizations which served the poor and persons and families in need.

In January 2001 HUD named Bowman Systems' ServicePoint software the Number One homeless management information systems product in the nation.  This new status led to a period of rapid growth for the company and a corresponding emphasis on product development.  In March of this year CommunityGuide 1.0 was released and one short year later the company expanded into new offices and built a state-of-the-art data center.

By July 2003 a major product upgrade effort led to the release of ServicePoint 3.0.  This significant upgrade offered users a new dynamic intake assessment capacity, enhanced case management features and medical and mental health code sets.   At the same time the company unveiled SkanPoint, a module which allows a service provider to quickly create a client identification card containing essential client information and a photograph. SkanPoint greatly reduced processing time while also reducing human error in the data entry phase.  This major advance in product capability and quality resulted in another significant growth phase for Bowman Systems.

Early in 2004 Bowman Systems established a Public Health Systems Group and an international arm to expand operations globally.  That Fall three much-requested ServicePoint add-ons were released, Eligibility Module, Scheduler and RidePoint.

Product improvement continued its relentless march forward.  ServicePoint 4.0 was released in July 2005.  This version included the powerful Advanced Reporting Tool, created in partnership with Business Objects.  ServicePoint 4.03 was released in February 2007.  Bowman Systems products were by this time being used in a variety of human services settings, including large social services systems, private and public, information and referral programs, older adults services and permanent and supportive housing projects.

With the  development of a new product in 2008, GatherPath, Bowman Systems demonstrated its commitment to innovation for the social services industry. GatherPath unleashes the power of real-time communication and case coordination among human services professionals in the community via a searchable, secure business networking tool.

In 2008 the company also organized another major version upgrade for its software products, with release of ServicePoint 5.0 scheduled for 2009.
